30. Introduction to Die Stress
In metal forming process, high temperature and pressure conditions cause significant die wear and plastic deformation of dies. Stress analysis of dies could identify locations of high stresses which could assist in improving the metal forming process in the future. Die stress process is carried out to check the stress in the dies after the load is applied by the die to the workpiece.
Die stress operation is a convenient tool to setup a stress analysis of dies after a metal forming process. User can use either Die stress study or Die stress operation alone to carry out the die stress. Die stress study is used, when user would like to perform die stress analysis at any desired step of the forming simulation while die stress operation if added as scheduled operation in batch mode then the die stress analysis will be carried out at the last step of the forming simulation.
We can setup Die stress operation in MO Die stress wizard. Following are the steps to setup the Die stress operation in MO Die stress wizard.
